How stress can mess with your skin!

Stress happens! Even though our skin organ is wonderful, it does have a nasty habit of showing the “not so nice things” that are going on inside your bodies and minds.
Here are some signs that your skin shows your stress:
1/ Dark circles and baggy under eyes
When you don’t get enough beauty sleep, fluid can get under your eyes to create puffiness in the morning. Try out some different sleeping techniques to help get you to sleep at a reasonable time such as deep inhales and exhales to the count of three.
2/ Flaring of skin conditions
Stress can throw your hormones off balance and by doing so; increase your chance of flaring up underlying skins conditions such as acne, psoriasis and eczema. Staying hydrated and not drinking or eating foods with excessive amounts of sugar are small dietary changes you can make to help clear up your skin.
3/ Fine lines
Constantly making furrowing brows or pursing your lips when you are stressed can lead to fine lines and deep wrinkles. As hard as it may be, try to be mindful of not excessively making these expressions. I also recommend performing facial exercises and daily massage to help combat these movements that will cause deeper lines.
4/ Rashes and Hives
When stress takes over and bad bacteria outweigh the good, it forms an imbalance in your stomach called dysbiosis. Dysbiosis causes rashes and hives to form on your skin. Taking probiotics to balance out the bacteria in your stomach is a good place to start, however it is best to consult your doctor if symptoms persist.
5/ Thinning hair
Stress accelerates your hairs natural cycle by going from the growing phase to the resting phase and then the falling-out phase much quicker. The good news is, that once you have combated your stress, your hair will return to its regular growth. For a temporary fix, use a thickening serum or spray to create the illusion of thicker, fuller hair.
