Eyelash Extension Aftercare

To keep your eyelash extensions looking flawless and long-lasting, proper aftercare is essential. Follow these simple steps to maintain the beauty and health of your lashes:

1. Avoid Water for the First 6-24 Hours

  • Keep your lashes dry for the first 24-48 hours after application to allow the adhesive to fully set.

  • Avoid swimming, steam rooms, and saunas during this time as well.

2. Be Gentle with Your Lashes

  • Avoid rubbing your eyes or tugging at your extensions.

  • When washing your face, gently pat around your eye area without touching your lashes.

  • Use a lash brush daily to keep your extensions tidy and prevent them from tangling.

3. Skip Oil-Based Products

  • Oil-based cleansers, makeup removers, and skincare products can break down the adhesive and shorten the life of your extensions.

  • Opt for water-based or oil-free products, especially around your eyes.

4. Clean Your Lashes Regularly

  • Use a lash-safe cleanser or diluted baby shampoo to gently clean your lashes every 2-3 days.

  • This helps prevent dirt, oil, and makeup buildup which can weigh down the extensions or lead to infections.

5. Avoid Mascara

  • With lash extensions, mascara is generally not needed. However, if you feel the need, only apply it to the tips and avoid waterproof formulas, as they are difficult to remove and can damage the extensions.

6. Be Careful When Sleeping

  • Try to sleep on your back to avoid crushing your lashes.

  • Silk pillowcases can reduce friction that may cause your lashes to tangle or fall out prematurely.

7. Schedule Regular Fills

  • To keep your lashes looking full and even, schedule touch-up appointments every 2-4 weeks, depending on your natural lash cycle.

Lash Lift Aftercare

A lash lift provides a natural curl to your lashes that lasts for weeks. To ensure the lift stays fresh and your lashes remain healthy, follow these aftercare tips:

1. Avoid Water and Heat for 6-24 Hours

  • Similar to eyelash extensions, keep your lashes dry for the first 24 hours after a lash lift.

  • Avoid showers, steam, and saunas during this period to maintain the lift.

2. Skip Eye Makeup for 24 Hours

  • Avoid applying eye makeup, especially mascara, within the first 24 hours to prevent interfering with the setting process of the lash lift.

3. Be Gentle with Your Lashes

  • Refrain from rubbing or pulling on your lashes.

  • Avoid using eyelash curlers as they can alter the shape of your lifted lashes.

4. Use Oil-Free Products

  • After the initial 24 hours, you can use makeup and cleansers, but it’s best to avoid oil-based products, as they may weaken the lift and make it fall flat sooner.

5. Condition Your Lashes

  • Keep your lashes healthy and hydrated by applying a lash serum or conditioner. This will help them stay strong and promote lash growth.

6. Avoid Excessive Heat Exposure

  • Extended exposure to heat can relax the curl of your lash lift. Be mindful when using steam rooms, hot tubs, or even direct heat from hair dryers.

7. Mascara is Optional

  • After the first 24 hours, you can wear mascara if you choose. However, many clients find that the lash lift gives them the perfect curl without needing extra mascara. If you do wear mascara, use a water-based formula for easy removal.

8. Enjoy Your Lift for 6-8 Weeks

  • A lash lift typically lasts 6-8 weeks. You can rebook your next treatment once your natural lashes return to their original shape.
