Shellac Nails

Are a combined strength between polish and gel. Shellac doesn’t need sanding, which makes it is easy to put on your nails just like polish, however it is finish with UV light. Shellac doesn’t need to dry and it’s light (thin) texture so it looks natural and has less damage to your nails then gel nails. The treatment will take approximately 30 min (longer if you would like nail care) and can last up to 2 weeks on the fingers and even longer on the toes (based on individual differences).

Gel Nail

Our revolutionary semi-permanent clear and coloured gel is hard wearing and flexible, acting as a shock absorber for the natural nail which reduces the possibility of breakage, chipping and cracking. It allows air and moisture to pass through the layers of the gel so nails do not become dehydrated, flaky or brittle over time. With proper maintenance, the gel can last for up to 3 weeks on the fingernails and even longer on the toe nails (based on individual differences), giving you a beautiful smudge proof finish whilst protecting your natural nails.

Aftercare

1. After Your Appointment: Immediate Care

  • Dry Time for Polish: If you chose regular nail polish, be mindful that it can take up to 6 hours for the polish to fully harden. Be extra careful during this period to avoid smudges or dents. We don't recommend to wearing closed in shoes for 2 to 6 hours.

  • Shellac & Soft Gel: These are cured under a UV or LED lamp, so they're dry immediately after your treatment. You can leave the salon without worrying about smudging!

2. Avoid Excessive Water Exposure

  • Wear Gloves: Protect your nails from prolonged water exposure, which can weaken polish and soft gel. Always wear gloves when doing household chores like washing dishes or cleaning.

  • Avoid Long Hot Baths: Extended exposure to hot water can lift or weaken gel and Shellac nails over time.

3. Moisturize Your Hands and Cuticles

  • Hydrate Regularly: Apply cuticle oil or a rich hand cream daily to keep your cuticles and nails hydrated. This is especially important for Shellac and soft gel, as the products can sometimes dry out your natural nails over time.

4. Be Gentle with Your Nails

  • Avoid Using Nails as Tools: As tempting as it might be to use your nails to open packages, scrape off labels, or pry things open, this can lead to breakage and lifting of polish or gel. Use the pads of your fingers instead to avoid putting pressure on your nails.

5. Avoid Harsh Chemicals

  • Avoid Contact with Strong Chemicals: Household cleaning products with harsh chemicals can damage your nails, so it's important to wear gloves during cleaning tasks.

6. Schedule Regular Maintenance

  • For Soft Gel & Shellac: It’s important to book regular removals every 2-3 weeks to maintain the health of your nails. Waiting too long can cause lifting, which may trap moisture and lead to infections.

  • For Regular Polish: While regular polish typically lasts up to 1 week on hands (longer on feet), you can refresh it by reapplying a clear topcoat every few days to extend its shine and prevent chipping.

8. Removal: Leave It to the Professionals

  • Don’t Peel or Pick: Resist the temptation to pick or peel off Shellac or soft gel nails, as this can strip away layers of your natural nails, leaving them weak and damaged. Always book a professional removal to avoid any harm.

9. Nail Strengtheners

  • Between Manicures: If you frequently use Shellac or soft gel, consider applying a nail strengthener between manicures to keep your natural nails strong and healthy.

Bonus Tips for Longer-Lasting Nails

  • Topcoat Touch-Ups: For regular polish, applying a clear topcoat every couple of days can significantly extend the life of your manicure by preventing chips.

  • Careful with Heat: Soft gel and Shellac nails may soften temporarily in high heat, so be mindful of hot environments like saunas or hot tubs.
